Nope! The Bedet is a non-invasive alternative for people with difficulty reaching the bathroom safely. The nozzle is recessed away from any body parts.
Nope! Negative pressure is only used to aid the movement of waste and water from the device to a separate waste reservoir. The device is not meant to create a seal around your skin, so no cupping effect and no bruising.
The Bedet can currently hold up to 5 liters of waste and 2.5 liters of clean water - enough for several uses without needing to empty and refill.
For now, as we continue to refine our design, the enclosure is meant to interface with any generic vacuum cleaner to provide the suction force.
We do not plan on this being a permanent solution - the goal is to have the necessary water, air, and vacuum pumps all be included as an all-in-one solution. Until then, the Bedet is able to use any vacuum with a hose (no battery-powered stick vacs for now). Plug it in to the back of the enclosure via its own dedicated outlet, make sure it is switched on, and with the push of a button, the outlet is supplied with current to allow the vacuum to run and provide the necessary suction.
The tank has been designed to prevent any waste from reaching the vacuum source but an included HEPA filter prevents any possible moisture and small particles from exiting and getting into your vacuum.
